Can a vehicle ECU be repaired?
Yes, a BMW DME can be repaired. First, a diagnostic check is needed to be done on the damaged DME to assess its repairability. If possible, a DME can be repaired and restored. Alternatively, a refurbished replacement DME can be installed.

How to identify a failed ECU on a vehicle?
Identifying if your ECU has failed and what faults are present is the first step in replacing or fixing your damaged ECU.
The most basic tests to determine if your ECU has failed are:
- OBD fault codes - Most diagnostic scanners can read fault codes from the ECU. If there are fault codes relating to the ECU, it can be a good indication that the ECU is faulty. If there is no communication with the ECU, the ECU might be faulty.
- Visual inspection - Look for water damage or any other physical damage to the outer case.
- Smell Test - If you can smell burned components, the ECU is likely damaged.

Thank you for your purchase. We hope you are happy with your purchase. However, if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return it to us for a full refund only. Please see below for more information on our return policy.
Retruns
All returns must be postmarked within fourteen (14) days of the purchase date. All returned items must be in new and unused condition, with all original tags and labels attached.
Return Process

You must return the items in their original package.
You must include all accessories and user manuals that came in the same package.
Where an item has been purchased as a part of a bundle of multiple items, all multiple items within that bundle must be returned.
Please treat the items with care and return them in the condition that they were delivered to you.
Replacement or refund can only be processed once we have received all the items to be returned.
If you return items 1) that you are not entitled to return, 2) that are not in their original condition, 3) that are without proper or missing packaging, 4) with items missing from the return delivery, 5) without following our return instructions, or 6) have otherwise failed to exercise reasonable care when taking care of and returning items, we reserve the right either to reject your return and decline to refund or to deduct from those payments to be refunded to you reasonable repair or other similar direct costs that we have incurred, subject to applicable law.

Refunds

Warranty
Warranty
All items come with a warranty. The warranty does not include any labor associated with installation and/or removal of parts, key, and/or Locksmith fees. Buyer will not be reimbursed for any such fees--NO EXCEPTIONS. Buyer hereby acknowledges and agrees that the Seller's liability is limited to the price of the item sold and Seller is not liable for any damage and/or injury sustained those results from any item(s) sold by any entity operated by The ECU Pro, LLC and Buyer hereby now and forever relinquish seller from any such liability.
Returns
Electrical parts are tested prior to purchase and if returned, all units will be inspected for burnt components, physical damage, and water damage. Returns will be processed in the order received and may have a greater handling time than order processing. The warranty shall be void if an item is returned with any signs of (a) burnt components (b)physical and/or water damage (c)misuse, abuse, modifications, opened, tampered with, and/or used for any purpose not originally intended (d)vehicle is involved in a collision or (e)security seal is removed, broken and/or damaged.
